Happy Dogs. Happy Humans!

Welcome to the Newmarket & District Canine Society

Coronavirus update - following Government guidelines and the advice of the Kennel Club, all classes have been suspended.  We are in discussion with Committee of Kirtling Village Hall to agree a date for resuming our club activities in a way that is safe for everyone.  Once the hall has re-opened, and our protocols finalised, we will welcome you back.  Updates will be posted here and on our Facebook page.

About us

Here at Newmarket & District Canine Society, our goals are happy dogs and happy people. Our training methods are sympathetic and positive and we focus on the relationship between you and your dog.  Our aim is that you make each other happy!

The Club has been established since 1967 and provides kind, motivational and reward-based training to owners of dogs of all breeds, ages and abilities.

We are a non-profit organisation and our experienced trainers give of their time on a voluntary basis.  We regularly donate to dog-related charities and hold fund-raising events to further our support.

Puppy Classes

We love to start puppies on a successful journey towards becoming well-mannered, social and obedient members of the family.  We try and accommodate puppies as soon as they are ready to join us so you can start their (and your!) training as early as possible.  More details can be found on the Puppy Class page.  For more information, contact us.

Ringcraft

We also hold ringcraft classes for people interested in breed showing.  All classes are held on Wednesday evenings at Kirtling Village Hall and further details can be found on this website.

Where can you find us?

Our classes are held at Kirtling Village Hall. In summer months, weather permitting, we also train on the recreational ground to the rear of the hall.  We want you to enjoy the social side of the club, too, and get to know your fellow members.  We offer free coffee and tea and the opportunity to watch other classes at work.
